Our Impact at a Glance

PHA works to normalize mental health struggles during pregnancy and postpartum, helping individuals recognize when professional support is needed. Thanks to our dedicated members, volunteers, and supporters, we make meaningful strides toward our mission each year.

With an annual budget of nearly $100,000 funded by grants, donors, and members, PHA continues to expand its reach. Our newly redesigned website will provide easier access to resources and expanded staff hours to strengthen our programs.

2025 Impact Highlights

  • 23,000 individuals accessed perinatal mental health support and resources through our website
  • 110 Warmline callers received peer support, guidance, and referrals
  • 315+ professional and affiliate members of PHA, including 60 new members
  • 30+ underserved individuals received free therapy through PHA community partnerships
  • 275 continuing education (CE) hours were awarded to perinatal professionals
  • 43 individuals completed PMADs 101 foundational course
  • 180+ individuals participated in PHA continuing education courses, including educational events
  • $8,000 in scholarships were awarded to 13 BIPOC recipients, expanding access to critical perinatal mental health training for professionals from historically marginalized communities
  • 800+ new Instagram followers expanded stigma-reducing outreach and community awareness

Working Toward Our Mission

PHA works to increase the capacity of San Diego’s perinatal health providers to recognize, understand, and respond effectively to the mental health needs of pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families through education and referrals.

Providing Local Resources and Support for Families

  • Connect families to peer support, professional referrals, and educational resources to help navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.

Building Community Through Professional Members and Partners

  • Strengthen the community of perinatal professionals and partner organizations to expand treatment options, share resources, and support families and providers.

Honoring Our Values of Equity and Inclusion

Develop programs and policies that improve access for underserved communities by:

  • Prioritizing resources to reduce disparities
  • Designing inclusive programs and policies
  • Educating providers to promote culturally responsive care

Investing in Provider Education and Training

  • Equip providers to deliver informed, compassionate care by providing high-quality, evidence-based CE trainings.
  • Foster collaboration among local perinatal health professionals, ensuring families receive expert, compassionate support.
