Become a Warmline Peer Support Specialist

Help parents feel seen, supported, and less alone as they adjust to pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. Warmline Peer Support Specialists carry out our mission to support perinatal parents every day. In this volunteer role, you would provide understanding, encouragement, and resources to help parents navigate perinatal mental health conditions and feel less isolated in their journey.

What Does a Warmline Peer Support Specialist Do?

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Return Warmline messages from families seeking support, resources, or referrals
  • Offer empathic listening and peer-based encouragement
  • Share information about perinatal mental health conditions and local resources
  • Receive training and ongoing support from PHA to feel confident in your role

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers who:

  • Have personal or professional experience with perinatal mental health conditions
  • Are passionate about supporting families  and reducing stigma around perinatal mental health

Volunteers do not provide therapy or crisis support. Instead, they draw on their lived experience and PHA-provided training to connect parents to resources and remind them they are not alone.

Why Volunteer?

Serving as a Warmline Peer Support Specialist is a meaningful way to:

  • Give back to your community
  • Help reduce stigma and isolation for parents
  • Grow your knowledge of perinatal mental health resources and supports
